Dr. Linda Dalpé was responsible for the component. Her team, which included a kinesiologist, prepared a day on physical activity for a sports season and off-season.
A second day, led by a dietitian, was based on: Eating on the road … at the convenience store, ‘refueling’ after a game, portions, keeping hydrated during physical activity and a 3-2-1-Go! Method.
A third day enabled the participants to identify and develop an active life action project which they would like to see happen in their community. Dr. Dalpé’s team prepared leaflets and video capsules, along with the video committee at the Polyvalente Louis-Mailloux, as an educational support. Here they are:
This initiative is the brainchild of the “Environnements alimentaires sains Péninsule acadienne” which is made up of a few representatives, such as Dre Linda Dalpé for the Health and Wellness committee of the NB College of Family Physicians.
The campaign is reaching out to parents, children, coaches, sports associations and municipalities.
Four 30-second videos, showcasing young athletes from the region, have been produced thanks to participation by partners such as the NB College of Family Physicians.
